Home Office Corner Desk – The Office Space
Saver
The home office corner desk is a great way to save precious space in your home office. These L
shaped desks or V shaped desks are the best way to make sure your office does not get cramped.
By placing your desk in the corner it really opens the work space. And the more space you have the
more office furniture and equipment you can get into it. By utilizing a home office corner desk I am also
able to get a love seat, book cases, and my Konica photocopier in it with out the office looking
cramped.
There are all kinds of these desks available. Some are small some are huge. The best advice I can
give you is to measure out the space you have then do some research and find some desk that you like. Use the
measurements of the desks it allows you to map out your office. This will let you visualize what your office
space will look like with that size of desk.
For my corner desk I bought two very simple desks. There were no drawers built in. Imagine two five
foot long two and a half foot wide desks out together to form an L.
I then also purchased two movable
drawers that slide under the desks. I also have a two drawer file cabinet under the desk as well. Not only is it
cheaper to buy a desk with out the drawers but it allows me to configure the drawers and anything else I want to
slide under the desks the way I like.
As far as prices go with desks all I can say is you get what you pay for. Most of the desks
available today are going to be made of particle board. I hate particle board because screws and hardware get
easily stripped. And once you have stripped screws in particle board your pretty much screwed. No pun
intended.
Now having said that, there are definitely quality differences in the particle board desks. The
quality can really be measured in price. My desks which I have had for 5 years are awesome. But I paid well
over $1,000 for them. They have been assembled, reassembled and moved over 3 times and I have not had any
problems with them at all.
But I have bought desks that only cost a couple hundred dollars. They were falling apart with in a
couple of years. And that’s with out any moving or reassembling.
I wish you the best of luck in your search for a new home office corner desk. Hopefully this article
helps you in buying the right one.
